Piano Solo

Jarry Singla has always been a crosser of boundaries between the most diverse of musical worlds. For all his formal training in jazz, his compositions are always those of an inquisitive freethinker: hybrids between jazz, experimental art and folk tradition for which Singla welcomes encounters with musicians of a completely different ilk, and not least when it comes to his solo performances.

Inspired by the grace of Bolivian Caporales dances, the pulsating energy of Indian cities, the vastness of the Andean mountains and the spiritual radiance of Hindustani ragas, Singla creates wonderfully filigree soundscapes, in which composed and improvised passages flow into each other like light clouds.

Jarry has given solo concerts at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, at the Winter Jazz Festival in Cologne’s Stadtgarten and at the Paris Goethe Institute.
