Jarry Singla & Zugluft
Jarry Singla and the Swiss duo ZUGLUFT of violinist Andrea Kirchhofer and bass clarinetist Bruno Strüby are united by their enthusiasm for sophisticated sound combinations and their exploration of traditional elements from folk music of various origins.
While the influence of Indian music is clearly evident in Jarry‘s work, influences from klezmer, experimental rock and tango become apparent in Zugluft‘s compositions.
Three musicians wandering in the vast soundcapes and on the edges of jazz and folk music. During a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris in the spring of 2023, one day they relaxed in a neighborhood restaurant and decided to start merging their highly independent sound universes.
After an inspiring series of concerts in Switzerland, the trio performed in Germany at the renowned Multiphonics Festival at Wuppertal‘s Skulpturenpark.
