Bolivian strings and Indo-European keys
Alfredo Paredes – charango, electronics
Jarry Singla – piano, Indian harmonium, composition
During his extensive residency in La Paz between 2014 and 2017 Jarry Singla initiated a collaboration with the young Bolivian charango-player Alfredo Paredes. The charango is a small, guitar-like string-instrument from the Andes. While it is traditionally used in folk-music, in their duo ZERUA Alfredo and Jarry extend the harmonic and tonal spectrum of the charango by putting it into an Indo-Euro-Bolivian context and by adding electronic colours.
